This is a minor release that adds a new program update mechanism and fixes some issues related to RetailEdge version 2024.7.0.

New Features #

RetailEdge has a new update mechanism that simplifies program updates. Future program updates will no longer require users to start RetailEdge with Administrator privileges before starting the update process.

Fixes and Improvements #

1. Quick Table Check: Fixed problem when Customer Display feature was turned off. The Quick Table Check utility will now correctly verify all tables.

2. Program Update Announcement Form: Fixed issue where program update messages  were sometimes appearing on customer-facing display. RetailEdge would appear frozen  because a modal window was on the customer facing display and not visually available to the RetailEdge user.

3. Sales Screen: Fixed problem with price-based, embedded, barcodes. Price and weight  embedded barcodes should now work correctly on both the traditional and touch based sales screens.

4. Sales Screen: Fixed issue where inventory items with duplicate AddOn values were not getting added to the sales screen. RetailEdge will now load all AddOn items, even if they  are duplicates (ex: 10 AddOn items of the same SKU will now be added 10 times to the Sales screen).

5. Sales Screen: Fixed issue where House Charge Distribution form would sometimes be displayed on the customer facing display and not be visually available to the RetailEdge user.

6. Traditional Sales Screen: Improved cursor focus and string selection when editing item descriptions. Item description is now fully selected instead of the cursor focus landing at the beginning of the description. A similar change was made to the Customer Search box.

7. Sales Screen: Made small change to improve accelerator keys on Touch-based Sales screen.

8. Sales Receipts: Layaway Payment History Report is now correctly showing on receipts.

9. Edit Purchase Order: Fixed problem with PO “Move Line(s)” function on purchase orders that have been partially received.

10. Filter Selection Screen: Restored the default action of the Enter/Return key. Pressing Enter after typing in filer text once again adds a new filter to the Current Filters list.

11. Filter Selection Screen: “Taxable” and “Matrix Parents” filters now work correctly.
