The Discount Rule tab allows you to setup the following criteria for each discount rule.
.Discount Rule Name. This can be anything you want. This value will be displayed on the Sales Screen and in the Manager screens for reference.
.Description. Some value that makes sense to you and describes what the rule does.
.Applies To. Discount Rules can be applied to Inventory, Customers, and both Inventory and Customers (e.g, 10% off Department X for all Customers from CA) or Complete Sale (30% off everything in the store).
.Discount Rule Type. Available Discount Rule Types are dependent on the Applies To value set in the dropdown box above.
.Start and End Dates. Starting and Ending time for which the rule would apply.
.Start and End Times. Starting and Ending time for which the rule would apply. Note: The Start and End times are the times EACH day the rule will run during the date range specified above.
.Coupon Required Checkbox. This checkbox tells RetailEdge whether you need to enter or scan a Coupon Code on the Sales Screen in order for the discount to be applied. If this box is not checked, the Discount Rule will be applied automatically without requiring a coupon to be entered.
.Coupon Code. Coupon code required in order for the discount to be applied. Complete Sale (Coupon) discounts require a coupon in order to work. However the Coupon Required Checkbox does not need to be checked unless you want to require that a coupon be scanned/entered in order for the discount to be applied.
