Using Global Payments Integrated Processing Solution (Out of Scope)

The Global Payments Integrated Processing Solution is one of RetailEdge's Out of Scope Solutions. For more information and a description of our Out of Scope Solutions, please see Appendix C - Processing Credit Cards Securely.
To process credit cards with Global Payments Integrated:
1. | Create and add items to the sale in RetailEdge and display the Payment tab. In RetailEdge move the cursor to the appropriate payment method and press the + key (for exact change). The plus key is found on the right hand side of the numeric keypad. Or double click the desired payment medium on the touch sales screen. |
2. | RetailEdge will display a screen with the following options: |
Swiped - Card Present: If you have a Global Payments Integrated Genius CED (Card Entry Device), pressing this button will send the amount of the transaction to the device allowing the customer to swipe their card, enter a PIN if they are using a debit card, or use other payment methods like Level Up to pay for the transaction. Complete control of the transaction and reading and transmitting of all sensitive credit card data is handled by the Genius Device.
Keyed Card Not Present: If you are working on a back office computer or on a laptop that does not have access to the Genius CED or simply processing phone orders, pressing this button will transfer control to Global Payments Integrated's Transport Web system for processing. When processing using Transport Web you will have the ability to hand key in the value of the card and expiration date, CVV and address information. You can also swipe a card using this form. If you are not using a Genius CED (recommended), and are not hand keying the information, then you should contact Global Payments Integrated to obtain an encrypted magnetic strip reader (highly recommended). Hand keying credit card information has some inherent risks (see notes below) and will increase your credit card rates for these transactions.
Reuse Customer's Last Card: If a customer is associated with the sale and the customer has used a credit card for a previous sale, RetailEdge can use the previous transaction's token (RetailEdge does not store credit card data for Global Payments Integrated transactions). Pressing this button will allow you to select from a list of prior transactions and reuse the credit card used for one of the listed transactions.
Get Device Status: Pressing this button will display some Status Information from the Genius CED. This can be helpful when troubleshooting connection issues with the Genius CED.
Cancel: Pressing this button will cancel the transaction.
3. | Print out a receipt or receipts with the customer sign line. |
Advantages
1. | Processes using the Internet. Does not require a separate phone line and can reduce the time taken to get card authorization by 75%. |
2. | Eliminates double entry errors that can occur with separate terminals. |
3. | Does not require additional processing software. Simplifies installation and does not require batching through additional software. Batching out is performed automatically by Global Payments Integrated. |
Note: Hand keying credit card data using your keyboard has the inherent risk that some processes (malware) can steal and use this data since it is transmitted from the keyboard to the screen in "clear text". This is why it is very important if you are processing credit card data this way you ensure your computer is secured with the latest Anti-Virus software and virus definitions, firewalls have been turned on and Windows/OS Updates have been downloaded and installed and your business is PCI Compliant.
