Is there a way to add a percentage upcharge to an item?

Example:
To hem a shirt we charge X
to add a button we charge X
If the shirt is lined we charge 15% more to all repairs on that garment.

The customer may be bringing in multiple garments so is there a way to apply an percentage upcharge to an individual item?

There are two solutions to your problem in RetailEdge Point of Sale Software.

First for the button and hemming you would want to have addons for the item you are selling. If there is an addon associated with a particular item, the list of addons will be displayed after entering the item on the sales screen. Addons are useful when you need to always sell particular items when you sell another item. For instance you always need to sell a cable with a particular printer. Or if you simply want to prompt your sales staff to ask the customer whether they want a particular addon item at the time of sale.

The second issue is the labor charge. The easiest way to add labor to a sale is to create a labor inventory item (stock type nonstock) and add it to a sale as you would any other inventory item.

RetailEdge also allows you to add labor to a sale as a percentage of the sale item(s). To add labor to a sale by this method:

1. Press the Ctrl-Alt-L keys together on the Sales Screen Items tab.

2. Type in a Labor Rate percentage.

3. Type in or find the Labor Item you wish to add to the screen

4. Select How to Apply Labor Charge. You will have the option to add labor to:

· Current Row (Add Labor to Item). Adds an invisible labor line to the selected sale item. The receipt will hide the labor item. The item price shown on receipts will be a combination of labor and item prices.

· Existing Rows (Add Labor to each item). Adds an invisible labor line to each existing sale item. The receipt will hide the labor items. The item prices shown on receipts will be a combination of labor and item prices.

· Existing Rows (Add Single Labor Item - Bottom). Adds a visible labor item on the last sale line.

· Reset Labor Item for all Rows. Removes all labor items for the chosen labor SKU from the sale.

· Convert Multi-Labor Lines to Single Labor Line. Will convert all labor items to a single visible labor item on the last sale line.
