    Reports/ Lists Export (Extra Charactor)

    by Eva » Mon Oct 29, 2007 8:58 pm

Hi Guys, When running a report for addresses and exporting the file to Excel an extra carraige return figure shows up. There is no easy way to get it out???

It also comes up on the e-mail list.

The charactor is at the end of each piece of information.

What do we do as we need to export our e-mail list to Constant contact and need our mail list for a mailing house.

    Thanks.

    Eva,

These reports can also be done as exports. Try doing them as straight exports. The formatting from the report writer must be getting exported as well. Some of these fields in the report are memos and so the export will export carriage returns (which is sometimes appropriate).

Let us know if the customer e-mail and customer sales summary exports do it for you.

Here's how I've handled the extra characters in Excel:

    =left(B1,len(B1)-1)
This formula takes the left-most characters in the column B, leaving off the carriage return at the end.

Copy the results, then Paste Special... Values
    into column B1.

That should work for your Constant Contact file uploads.
