Anyone using RetailEdge in Mexico?

I am starting a new apparel store in Playa del Carmen and have been looking at several POS systems. Is RE a good system for the apparel business in Mexico? Does it handle multiple currencies?

RetailEdge will work fine for the apparel business. However, I am not sure about what your requirements are for Mexico. We do have a few users in Mexico that use the Version 7.5 program. However, I would think that Version 8.0 would be a better fit, more flexible and better able to handle your needs. Let us know a little more about your multi-currency issues and I will be happy to tell you what RetailEdge can do for you.

You can download a copy of both RetailEdge demos from our web site at http://www.retailedge.com/point_of_sale ... _demos.php. The demos are a full working copy of the program with some limitations on the amount of information you can add to them before they stop working. If you have trouble downloading the demos, we would be happy to send you a CD.

Thank you for the information. I would be most interested in how it handles multi-currency. If the main currency is Mexican pesos and I accept US dollars, I want to be able to return their change in pesos (since the main currency here is pesos). I would assume that all report dollar amounts would print in pesos.

Sorry but we don't have anything that will automatically take the currency values and calculate a change value in another currency. It is a good suggestion and we will add it to the list. I don't know how soon this will be added though since there are not that many people asking for it. This would probably take a data-structure change, so it could not be included in a maintenance release. Too bad I would have like to come down and done the installation. Playa Del Carmen is a great spot.
