Here is another fun one from Windows Vista. When you first run RetailEdge, you may get a Open File - Security Warning box displayed. Simply unchecking the Always Ask checkbox and then running RetailEdge should under most circumstances make this warning go away. However, depending on how you installed RetailEdge, this warning may be displayed even if uncheck the Always Ask box. Listed below is the way to fix this problem if it occurs.
This problem happens when you save a program that you have downloaded from the internet to a secure location on your computer, such as the program files folder.
To solve this problem:
1. Move RetailEdge.exe to your desktop
2. Launch the file from there, and uncheck the checkbox. You will get a warning about RetailEdge not finding the proper files. Ignore the warnings.
3. Close RetailEdge, and move it back to its orginal location (Typically c:\program files\high meadow business solutions\retailedge 8.0).
More fun with Vista Security.
