Just one for editing prices, etc. Everything except sales. I don't need two for sales, I just need it to edit inventory off a laptop and transfer onto the sales computer. It would be heaven sent, since I often can't get orders done while we're open.

Our dongle already gives full functionality to the program. And we only charge half the original price for the secondary workstation licenses. Let's compare this to some of the other solutions out there.

Quickbooks POS - $1300 per workstation - 2 workstations $2600.
Microsoft POS $800 per workstation and if you go with the more powerful RMS (which RetailEdge does most of anyway), it is $1200 per lane workstation (back office is free). No 90 days of technical support either

$225 additional workstations.
Back Office for Reporting, Exporting, Closing Free.

Is $225 too much to pay for the additional functionality you are asking for?

No, and I'm not a developer so I don't know the costs/time etc to make a new dongle.
I was just assuming that it would cost more for sales, since that in my eyes would be the big selling point.

But it's not something we need at this time, cause we're only setup to sell on one computer, so I wasn't sure.

$225 isn't bad at all, but if the option was there for $100 for a dongle w/ just editing capabilities, then well I can buy another $125 worth of product

We'll most likely be placing an order soon for a new dongle.

Now first, is what I want to do something I can do with two dongles?

I want to have the one we have now on the computer it is now, which we use for sales & editing inventories, etc.
I want to have a laptop in the office so that when orders come in while we're open, I can be in the office updating prices, inventory quantities, making sale items, etc and then save that info and transfer it over to the computer that is on & selling stuff.

Basically, can I do all that while still keeping both machines on and not losing the data from the day of things we've already sold, or do I have to wait till we're cashed out to transfer info?
