Erasing inventory items

Hello ,

Sometimes when I try to delete a discontinued item a screen pops up that says something like, "This item is on order" but it really isn't on order anywhere. It doesn't let me erase the item. If an item on order was merged into a new item would the old on order status be trapped in the data somewhere? What would cause this inability to delete an item that is really NOT on order?

Not sure what is going on, but you might have some old data that is causing RetailEdge to think that an item is still on order. If the On Order tab in the inventory manager for the item shows no items on order, then you should call us and we can provide you with an SQL utility that will prevent this from occurring.

What is a SQL utility? Should I call for every item I experience this with? Or will this SQL utility fix all of them?

It will fix all of them and can be run whenever you need it.
