We downloaded and installed the 8.1.17 update. We have notices the clerk Id screen which used to be a small box is now a supersized box with clerk Id password, a numeric keypad and a keyboard icon. The Receipt count screen has also been supersized. Any way to get these back to normal? Not sure what others have been upsized.

Quick answer is no. That being said, what you are seeing are some new User Interface (UI) changes to:

1. Make RetailEdge work in a Touch Environment and accommodate the new Sales Touch Screen.
2. Make the text on the forms easier to see. We were getting a number of requests/objections about this.
3. Refresh the look and feel of the program.
4. Allow more security for stores that have terminals that are used just for Sales. For instance, customer lookups on the sales screen limit the view to just the current customer.

These changes should (in most not change current functionality. As in the case of the ClerkID/Password screen you can still continue to use your keyboard and type in the ClerkID, press Enter or Tab, type in your Password.

The forms that are changed for the most part are ones that are accessed from the Sales Screen because this is where the touch functions would typically be accessed from. The backoffice screens like the managers should be unchanged.

This is the first step into changing how RetailEdge looks and we are anticipating and hearing from customers and resellers to see what works and what does not. So let us know the specifics about what you like or don't like in the new screens.
