Features
1. Added Sell Through Report. This can be accessed by opening the compound report folder in the Report Selector. The sell through report will calculate and display inventory quantities for the beginning of the period selected, sales, receiving, other adjustments (manual changes typically), end of month inventory and sell through percentage. Sell Through is defined as sales quantity for specified date range / beginning Inventory as of Start Date (Includes any Adjustments). This is a good metric to determine whether items in your inventory are moving. For instance if you started the month with a quantity of four of item ABC in your inventory and you sold 8, you would have a sell through percent of 8/4 or 200%. Sell through reports are a good end of month report to run. What is considered a good sell through varies for each industry. In the case above, if I get 30 day dating from my vendor, I have sold 4 before I have even had to pay for them (pretty good).
2. Added option to display Zero Balance Store Credits. This can be useful to get store credit histories for customers who have used up their store credits or have been zeroed out.
3. Added Buttons on Touch Sales Screen to do Quick Line Discounts. After pressing the Discount button there are options for 5%, 10%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60% line discounts. This will make it easier/faster to perform sales screen discounting.
4. Added ability to do a 100% Customer Discount. Never thought we would need this one, but there were a number of requests for basically allowing owners and employees to get free items.
5. Added Keyboard Shortcuts to Sales Touch Screen.
a. Page Up/Page Down will cyle from customer to items to payments.
b. F4 brings up the Find Item Screen (although you should not really need to use this since RetailEdge automatically looks up item when you type int a partial match on the items tab)
c. Accelerator keys are enabled on many buttons (Pressing Alt and then the Underlined character will push the button). On forms with no keyboard input allowed like the Advanced Options the Alt key is not required.
6. Added a function to zero out loyalty dollars, store credits and gift cards balances. This can be done through a specific date range so that you can do things like purge all loyalty dollars issued through July 31, 2007. These functions are accessed through the Tools|Purge menu item.
7. Added a look-up on the Sales Screen Search on Serial Number. RetailEdge will now automatically search on a serial number match as well as the other automatic look-ups on the Sales Screen. If a match is found RetailEdge will display the list of serial numbers with the appropriate one checked. This will speed up the sales process for users who are serializing their inventory and scanning the serial number barcodes.
Fixes
1. Disabled the exact change button and double clicking on the pmt buttons for Account charge payments on the touch sales screen. Disabling exact change here will minimize making potentially large payment mistakes to multiple invoices.
2. Detail Store Credit Report no longer crops header description.
3. Addressed Restore (Error 9217) Problem. This problem is due to issues with FTP problems on certain machines. The backup/restore feature works by creating a backup file on the machine that contains the Dataserver and then transferring this file via FTP protocols to the remote machine doing the backup/restore. Unidentified FTP issues were causing the Error 9217 on the remote machine during this file transfer operation. There is now a new hot key Ctrl-Alt-M on the Restore form that will allow for a direct file restore without using the FTP step. This can only be done on the server machine, since it now skips the FTP transfer process.
4. Fixed Display Pole refresh when variable weight UPC barcodes are scanned and when F12 (scale weight) is pressed on the sales screen.
5. Refreshing printer list before printing reports. Many times printers become unavailable
6. Added ability to Void on Sales Manager with new TouchScreen. Many features on the Touch Sales Screen.
7. Discounting a sale on a copied sale now works properly
8. Refresh RetailEdge cache to remove deleted vendors, departments, classes, and clerks from the report and manager filters.
9. Date Code on labels now uses local time and not UTC values.
10. Removed unused buttons from the workstation editor screen.
11. Now properly remembering changes to Customer Search Criteria on the Touch Sales Screen.
12. Changing the amount associated with the Gift Cards on the payment screen no longer causes an error.
13. Purchase Order Pricing on Sales Screen no longer uses pricing from deleted POs. RetailEdge can sell items with future PO pricing using the Ctrl-Alt-O keyswitch on the Sales Screen. This is useful for creating quotes or sales when you want to use the future (usually higher) price for an item.
14. Receive PO now accepts decimal values in Today column when values are changed.
