I am trying to get the sub total feature to work that is explained in the help section...

When creating sales quotes it is sometimes useful to subtotal sections of the receipt for the customer. To create a sale that has section subtotals:



1. Open the retailedge.ini file. This can be found in the RetailEdge installation folder.



2. Type in SubTotalDescPrefix=sub on the last line of the [General] section, where sub is any unique identifier you want to use to identify the subtotaling inventory item.



3. Create a Non Stock inventory item with $0.00 cost and price having a description that matches the SubTotalDescPrefix listed in the retailedge.ini file (e.g., subSubTotal: ).



When you want a sales receipt to have subtotals on it, just enter the subtotal item on the sales screen. This will provide a subtotal on this line on the receipt. Everything in the description field after the SubTotalDescPrefix will be printed on the receipt's subtotal line. You can change the text following the SubTotalDescPrefix on the Sales Screen to customize the subtotal description text.

But I cannot get it to work...does this still work?

This still works. We use it here all the time. The key is the description. So using the example SubTotalDescPrefix=sub. We use a subtotal item has a description subSubtotal:. When the subtotal is viewed on the quote or sale, all you will see it Subtotal. RetailEdge will strip the sub. You might have to restart RetailEdge after making the change to the ini file since RetailEdge only posts/gets changes to and from the inin file on program startup and shutdown.

Well I thought I did this but will try again and let you know. Won't be able to get to this until Friday afternoon or after the weekend.
