Years ago one of our vendors had a Item #7480, now many years later they have a new item also numbered #7480. Since the old item was discontinued years ago, we deleted it from our inventory. Now we tried to enter the new item, and Retail Edge brings up the ghost of the old item. I can not edit it (change the matrix) that it was originally. I did a inventory search for 7480, and it comes back no item found. Is there any way to purge the old item?

Try receiving #7480 and see if that undeletes the item. If it does, then change the 7480 value to something like 7480_OLD. If this works, the old item will no longer get picked up in the sales screen.
