    email reports

    by DAVE » Wed Oct 06, 2010 12:50 pm

It's nice that you added a feature to email po's, but it would be even nicer to have access to an email address book or vendor email addresses. Or even better, save the email addresses entered the first time in an email list accessed from the "email report" screen, to save having to re-enter addresses everytimeI can't imagine why I would want to email a Purchase Order to a customer (with the present "Find Customer/F4" option). .

Thanks Dave. The e-mail feature is in its infancy. Thanks for the comments.

Lots of things to do including e-mailing tape style receipts, collecting e-mails at time of sales and associating them with the customer if they exist or if they don't, adding them. And remembering e-mails sent and defaulting to the vendor or customer e-mail.

Lots of ideas, but as you know we like to put things out there an let the users drive it and then let us know what would work best for them.

    Hello!
I love this new feature to be able to direct email from a report or receipt. Thanks. However the first time I find an email address the email returns as undeliverable. I have to then copy the address and resend and then it appears to go through.
Is this something I am doing wrong?
    thanks

    Michelle,

What are you using for an e-mail client? When you say copy the address: From where to where? Also if you can document the steps you are taking to create the problem with any error messages this would be helpful. Obviously you should remove any specific references to e-mail addresses when you post it.

    Thanks.

I am using MS Outlook. I am sending receipts via email, so I find the email address via retail edge, add a salutation and then send. The email fails, I get an non delivery receipt. so I go into my sent box find the email, select resend message. However, I click on the previous TO: entry and a sub box opens and I select the email address, clear the old one and resend. It is like the original email address from RE has quotes in it that are not readable to send?

I won't be able to send samples until Thursday.

    Michelle,

Could you please tell us what version of Outlook you are using (and whether you use Outlook or Outlook Express). We've had (vague) reports that older versions of Outlook have problems where newer versions are ok.

    Thanks.
