We are now required to enter the clerk id when we make a account payment and when we close can this be turned off? Would changing the security level do it?

One approach might to be edit the Action List (within editing the security settings for your location) and set the "Sales Manager - House Charges" value to zero (found in Register). This will prevent asking for a Clerk ID.

You can do the same with the Closing report by setting the "Register - Close - Register" value to zero (found in Reports).
