Qty on receipt doesn't show decimals (it rounds the qty)

Hi,

This is my first time using the Retail Edge (or any) forum. Hope I'm doing it right.

I am selling fruit that I weigh manually through RE. Everything seems good in the inventory setup and sales interface BUT on the customers receipt there are no decimal places printed for the "quantity" (or weight) entered. So a customer that has purchased 4.77 lbs of produce sees "5" on the receipt under quantity. The extended price is correct. ie. 4.77 lbs x $2/lb = $9.54.

A few questions:

Can you please tell us what version of RetailEdge you are running?

Do you use an integrated scale with RetailEdge?

What type of receipt printer are you using?

My setup is:

Version 8.2.9

I do NOT have an integrated scale (I manually enter the weight in pounds up to 2 decimal places)

Receipt printer: Epson (integrated in StealthTouch POS system)

Based on what you are describing, this does sound odd. The quantity should not be getting rounded. Would it be possible to send us a couple of screenshots (or upload them to this Forum thread):

-A Sales Manager showing the sale in question and the items purchased.
-A copy of the receipt in Full Page mode (i.e. exports as PDF).

The information in these screens might help us get a better understanding of what's going on. If it doesn't, then we might want to hook into your computer and poke around the data a bit.

It took a while but we think we now know what's going on and we have an easy work-around. Based on your descriptions and screenshots it appears that the following conditions are set:

1) The inventory item is set to Manually Weighed Item and Use Scale is off.
2) The sales workstation is set to No Scale.
3) The sales workstation Scale Type is set to None.

Using this combination of settings, we were able to recreate your receipt where the quantity was rounded to a whole number. If you change the Scale Type to a setting that allows for decimal division, then the receipts will round to the number of decimal places allowed by the Scale Type.
