It would be great if you add the capability to see the Vendor and Department description when you are Editing or Creating an Inventory Item. Currently, the software only shows the Vendor and Department ID. If you show both of them when creating the items it will be more easy for the customers to select the proper Vendor and Deparment, thus avoiding going to Vendor Manager or Department List to find out what the three letters Department or Vendor ID means.

I am not sure that we would do this as a future enhancement. Many people actually like to obscure this data and on certain screen resolutions a longer VendorID or DepartmentID might get truncated.

However, the Vendor ID and Deparment ID fields can be up to 50 characters long. So if you want more information in your Vendor or Department IDs just make them longer. If you have started out with short ones it is not a problem to change then to longer ones. RetailEdge will associate the longer ID with the inventory items.
