When the sales screen is open it takes up the entire screen. Is there any way to have it open yet still be able to get to the desktop or the RE main screen? We have to close Sales Screen by the X when it would be convenient to just move it or reduce it to check on something else.

If RE is coming up full screen you should be able to resize it by clicking the button with the square in it just to the left of the 'X' for closing the window. After clicking the square move the mouse pointer to any edge of the screen and it should turn in to a double headed arrow. Left click when it does and you can drag the edge where you want it.

Sounds like you are using the Touch Sales Screen. The intent of this screen is to have it not only work better on a Touch Screen but also to keep the sales clerks in the environments that normally use this screen out of all the management functions.

If you want a sales screen that will resize you might want to consider using the traditional sales screen. It works in more or less the same way, but you can open multiple sales screens and other manager screens at the same time. I use RetailEdge in this manner because working more back office functions and also working on quotes where I want to quickly modify the order of the items on the sales screen, change descriptions and include subtotals. So the more traditional one works better for me.

Yes we are using Touch Screen mode...and there is no way to resize. I understand the intention and makes sense I guess for many applications....just not ours. We have 12 owner/artists that run this workstation as our register as well as our back office (between sales at Gallery). Many love the touch screen feature when ringing sales so we do not want to turn this feature off....but we do want to be able to resize.
