You can easily reinstall RetailEdge on a new machine using the following 10 point checklist.

    1. Install RetailEdge from your original CD and place the USB Dongle (Lincense Key) into the new machine.

    2. Install the Receipt printer with and drivers.

For Star printers if you do not have install disk got to http://www.starmicronics.com/Support/Default.aspx
For Epson T-88 if you do not have the disk go to https://pos.epson.com/

For other printers you will have to go to the manufacturer's website to download the most current windows drivers.

    3. Perform a Windows test print to the printer to make sure that Windows can talk to the printer.

    4. Install the label printer driver. If you are using a zebra label printer you can download the printer drivers from Zebra's website at http://www.zebra.com/us/en/support-downloads.html.

    5. Perform a Windows test print to the printer to make sure that Windows can talk to the printer.

    6. Download the stocks for your Zebra printer from our FTP site at ftp.highmeadow.com/pub/Support/

    7. Import the label stocks into the Zebra printer driver. To import stocks:

    a. Open your Windows Control Panel
    b. Select Devices and Printers and locate your zebra printer
    c. Right Click the printer and Left Click on Device Preferences
    d. Go to the Import/Export tab and Import the Stocks previously Downloaded.

    8. Install any other Devices and drivers that you want RetailEdge to communicate with (Displays, Scales, etc.) and make sure they are in working order.

    9. If you are using RECON multi-location synchronization engine and using a VPN, your VPN software must be in an operational state.

    10. If you are recovering RetailEdge make sure that the most current Backup of your data is available on the system.

Once your environment is up and running it is very easy for you to get RetailEdge back up and running. If you need additional help at this point and are not on a Gold level support plan, then we are available to help you during normal business hours M-F 9:30-5:30 Eastern Time.

If you are on a Gold level support plan Emergency technical support is available from 5:30 P.M. to 8:30 P.M. EST weekdays and from 9:30 A.M. to 8:30 P.M. EST on weekends.

Weekend and after hours technical support for the Gold Technical Support Plan does not include support for planned new installations or re-configurations. If you are planning to perform a new installation or re-configuration, then please contact us in advance during normal business hours so that we can discuss and make you aware of issues that you might encounter or to schedule the installation(s) and support during normal business hours.

For Gold level technical support planned re-installations and re-configurations are covered under your Gold level plan. However setting up Windows and Windows drivers is not. We support RetailEdge but not Windows. If you are have the devices setup as listed in the above steps we are happy to help you setup RetailEdge again to work in your new environment. If you want us to perform these tasks we are happy to do it but there will be a charge for this service.
