We started a new quickbooks company file at the request of our accountant. We updated the field under MISC under the workstation settings, however, it doesn't appears that Retail Edge actually took the change as it will not connect to the new filename. It will only connect to the old QB filename. Is the filename stored in the database and is it possible it could be locked? We have had issues like this before with locked DB files.

This is part of the database file. You might have a damaged file and you can repair this from the tools menu. Another issue that we see sometimes if someone is accessing a file across a network with a long file name you might have issues. The total length of the file name is 150 characters. So if the path is long you can have issues.
