We have several items in our inventory with negative quantity. Is there a way to change all negatives to zero without going through and manually changing them? I know this was a function in the older versions of Retail Edge but I am not finding it.

Of course. It is in a little different spot. To zero your inventory for items with negative quantities, choose Zero Inventory from the Inventory|PICS menu item. You will be then asked to filter the process. Just choose items with Quantity < 0 and add it to the filter list.

Remember before doing any procedure that will change a lot of data, you should make a backup so that if the results are not what you expected you can unwind it.

Having negative quantities begs the question why you have negative quantities in your inventory in the first place. Sometimes it is as simple as you had a non-stock item like "Labor" set incorrectly. Other times it is because someone is selling the wrong item or has received the wrong item or not properly received in the first place. If this is the case, then the way you should be making adjustments is to receive properly, exchange the wrong item sold for the right one, etc.

And before you make an adjustment like this, you should run a report that shows the total inventory quantities for the items and so that you can document for your accountant the adjustment.
