RetailEdge can create packages (groups of items sold at the same time). Here are some ways and reasons to use them:
Sell groups of items quickly. RetailEdge packages allow you to quickly enter multiple items you commonly sell onto the Sales Screen by simply entering one code or ID.
Sell Negatives. If you sell returns a lot (bottle exchanges) or use couponing (negative items to decrement sales totals) you can create packages with negative items.
Hide Items. If you want to hide the items you are selling, the packages can be setup to list only the package description and not the individual items on the sales receipts. RetailEdge will still track sales and adjust inventory on the package items.
Move Slow-Selling Items. Put non-sellers or slow-sellers with betting selling items to move the non-sellers.
Quick Discounting. Packages allow you to set some interesting discounting on items that are not handled with the RetailEdge Discount Rules.
Packages Handle Matrixes. If you are selling a package that may need different sizes, then you can put matrix parents in your packages. RetailEdge will automatically ask the clerk to select the proper size(s) when the package is sold.
Print Package Barcode Labels. You can print package barcode labels so that you can simply tag and scan your packages.
