Register one says I should not back up with other registers open. There are no other registers using retail edge. I even shut down the other computers, it still says register two is open and using retail edge. How do I get this cleared?

The quickest way to do this is to press Ctrl-Alt-P on the main screen. It should only be done with no other users and very rarely.

That prints the desktop, but it still shows register 2 on-line

Yes I was on the main Retail Edge Screen, no other registers on-line.

When you are in RetailEdge and press Ctrl-Alt-P, RetailEdge will ask you if you want to purge (P) the ret_users table. This will take care of the problem. RetailEdge should be controlling this though and grabbing control. But it looks like you have something grabbing this keyswitch. So if you can get that turned off, then RetailEdge will be able to use it.
