Date and Time of Sale

Do the date and time of the sale come from the specific register (which is a "client") used for the sale or from the date and time on the server that has the main data? I read in an earlier post that I might be able to correct a sale and get it into the right time period by back-dating the correction sale and I want to understand what the system looks at to get the time/date stamp.

RetailEdge get's it's time settings from the local computer. Be careful when you modify your settings and remember to set them back. We see this periodically when a clerk/user changes settings and then continues to ring in sales on the wrong day (sometimes for days). We can unwind these changes but it then becomes a billable technical support call. Proceed with caution.
