We run our software in a computer store and a problem we have been having is with serial numbers. We have customers that order computers with us and pay for it in full. We might not always have all the parts in stock so we can't enter serial numbers of parts we are ordering, if we save the sale we lose the serial numbers that we did have entered into the sale. We have been having to return the sale and resell the sale with new serial numbers. Having the ability to append a serial number to a closed sale would save us so much time.

RetailEdge will not save a serial number with a saved sale. I will add this to the suggestions along with being able to change a serial number after a sale. One thing that you might try in the interim, is to create a one serial number for the item you are selling when you create the item (e.g., called ABC). When RetailEdge adds an item to the sales screen that has at least one available serial number, a screen will automatically pop up that will ask the clerk to assign a serial number to the item. Since you will never use the serial number "ABC", RetailEdge will always pop up a message asking to assign a serial number to the sales item and minimize the chances that a sales person will forget to assign it.
