Creating Items Requiring Age Verification

Enabling Age Verification an item will automatically prompt for a customer birth date on the Sales Screen and compare it against the minimum age allowed for an item when it is sold. RetailEdge will prevent the sale of the item if the customer birth date entered does not meet the minimum required. Age verification supports multiple verification ages and will allow for a manual overrides.

 

To enable:

 

1.From Inventory select Inventory Manager this will open Inventory Manager.

 

2.Select the item you want to enable Age Verification then press the Modify button this will open the Edit Inventory screen.

 

3.Select the Weight, Age, EBT option on the sidebar.

 

4.Select This Item Requires Age Verification check box.

 

5.Enter the minimum age in the Minimum Age dialog box.

 

6.Optionally press the Advanced Options button.  This will allow you to turn on advanced options for businesses that allow Guardians to authorize purchasing of minimum age items and also only allow certain clerks to sell these items or provide these services.
