Getting inventory into RetailEdge for the first time can be an overwhelming task. Everyone does it differently based on their business. Here are some of the ways RetailEdge customers have done it in the past:
| 1. | Pick a group of items that you sell the most and get these into RetailEdge first. |
| 2. | If you have existing inventory, only enter into RetailEdge new items as they come in off previous or new purchase orders. |
| 3. | Import existing data through the REDI file or CSV import. |
| 4. | Don't "Go Live" immediately and continue using your old system (cash register etc.) until you have entered all of you inventory. |
As you start getting items into RetailEdge they will be tagged with a RetailEdge label. Then as items are brought up to be sold, you can sell the items that have labels and sell other non-tagged items as either non-entered items or by selling Department SKUs.
Importing through the REDI file import can be complicated. You can manipulate the data in an Excel spreadsheet or an ASCII text file but you should be very familiar with the REDI file format and the limitations of creating an import file. High Meadow can provide import file assistance as an added service. Typically we can import most customer's data into RetailEdge in under a couple of hours but sometimes longer. Please contact us about import service rates if you would like us to import your data into RetailEdge.
Additional information about importing can be found on YouTube Channel or in our Knowledgebase.
