Sales - Suppress QTY Lookups (Better Performance): RetailEdge will automatically calculate the item quantities when selling items. If you see that this procedure is slow because you have a large quantity of sales for a particular item (
Sales - Customer Is Required: Some businesses require a customer on every sale. RetailEdge does not require a customer on every sale. However, RetailEdge does require a customer on an Open Order or Layaway.
Sales - Skip Customer (Land on Items Tab): If you are mostly doing cash sales and do not track customer information, you can check this box. RetailEdge will start the Sales Screen with the Items tab ready to start scanning items. Sometimes it is useful to have the Sales Screen start on the Customer tab to prompt sales people to ask for and input customer information.
Sales - Pop Drawer for House Charges: This allows the Cash Drawer to be opened when printing out a receipt for a house charge. Some businesses require a customer signed receipt for house charges and need the drawer opened when applying a payment to a Customer's House Charge Account.
Sales - Returns can NOT be mixed with Sales: This prevents the return of an item on the same sale as a sale of another item (Exchanges) on one sales screen. Some accounting practices do not allow this type of operation and this can help when transmitting data from RetailEdge to accounting programs.
Sales - Auto Delete Complete Saved Sales: This will allow Saved Sales that are completed to be automatically deleted without prompting the clerk.
Sales - QTY Not Available: This controls the warning on the sales screen when an item being sold is has a QTY of Zero. This can be set to require a written confirmation to acknowledge that the item is out of stock.
Reset Starting Cash: If a clerk has entered the incorrect starting cash, this is the place to change it before you close for the night.
Sales Screen Type: This sets the sales screen type for the workstation whenever a sales screen is launched either from the Sales button on the toolbar or from any of the Manager functions (recalling sales, sales from the Customer Manager, copying sales, modifying open orders, etc.). You can select Traditional RetailEdge Sales Screen (useful for quotes), Touch-Based Sales Screen (Full Screen), and Touch-Based Sales Screen (Resizable).
Status Bar Options button: This will allow you to select information that is displayed on the bottom status bar on the Customer, Item, or Payment Tab on the Sales Screens. This allows the clerk to quickly see good customers, sales histories, Item Costs, etc. Options available are:

Sales Enable Donation Round-up: Allows you set a particular stock number for donation round-ups and the round up increment amount. This will prompt your clerks on the sales screen to ask customers whether they would like to donate their change to the charity of your choice. This also works well for non-profit businesses.
