Using the RetailEdge Item ID

When you create an inventory item, RetailEdge will assign it an Item ID. The Item ID is a very important and useful part of the inventory item. The Item ID:

1.	Is used throughout the program to track sales of an item and is printed on RetailEdge pricing labels.

2.	Can significantly speed up the sales process if you are not using a barcode scanner. Instead of having to type in a long UPC or Stock Number, you can type in the short Item ID found on the pricing label.

3.	Can be used for inventory look-ups and can be used interchangeably with the Stock Number.
