Using the CardConnect Devices
To setup RetailEdge to use CardConnect:
| 1. | In RetailEdge choose Settings |Workstations from the Tools menu item. |
| 2. | Select the workstation you want to have work with CardConnect and press the Modify button. |
| 3. | On the Edit Workstation screen press the Credit Card (1 of 2) tab. |
| 4. | Select CardConnect - Out of Scope (EMV). |
| 5. | Press the Edit CardConnect Settings button. |
| 6. | Type in the following information (to be given to you by CardConnect when you setup an account): |
•Merchant ID: Your business' Merchant ID (assigned and e-mailed to you when your account is setup).
•Hardware Serial Number: This will be auto-populated when you press the Get Device Serial Numbers button below and select one of the available serial numbers. This number can also be found on the label on the bottom of the device you are using.
•Timeout - Server (secs): This is the length of time RetailEdge will wait until it gives up on a response from CardConnect during the initial interaction with CardConnect Servers. A good initial setting is 15-30 seconds. If you have a slower less reliable internet connection then 60 seconds is better.
•Clear Display Delay After TRX (secs): The transaction approval will be displayed on the device after the previous transaction. This is the amount of time that the device will wait to clear the screen back to the default image. Your logo can be added to the device. You should contact CardConnect about image specifications and loading.
•Ask to Confirm Swipe Amount Checkbox. When this checkbox is checked, RetailEdge will prompt the customer to confirm the amount of the transaction before the approval process starts.
•Turn Device Beeps ON Checkbox. This will make the device beep with button presses. This can be useful in certain environments and can minimize mistakes.
| 7. | Press the Ok button to save. |
| 8. | Press the Credit Card (2 of 2) tab and add any up to four receipt messages that you want to have displayed on printed credit card receipts. |
| 9. | If you are finished editing the workstations settings, press the Save button to save your credit card settings and exit out of the workstation settings. |
