Management Tools > Backing Up RetailEdge Data

Backing up should be performed each night after a Closing Report is run. Backups should be removed off-site so that if a burglary or a fire occurs during the night, a reliable backup will exist. You should also consider considering creating separate backups for each day of the week. The backup will give you the data you need to help get your business running again as quickly as possible. The backup will also provide a detailed record of inventory levels for insurance purposes.

To backup all RetailEdge data:

1.	Choose Backup\|Backup from the Tools menu.

2.	Press the Folder button to select a file name and location or type in a name and location for the backup file.

3.	Press the Ok button to begin the backup.

Note: Backups can be performed at any workstation.
