Listed below is a list of the information that can be stored with each customer.
Cust ID - Can be any 50 character identifier. Can be randomly assigned by RetailEdge or user assigned.
Bill To and Ship To Tab
Last Name* - Last name.
First Name* - First name.
Company* - The company or business name.
Street 1 - Primary street name.
Street 2 - Additional street information if necessary.
City - City
State/Province - State/Province
Postal Code - Postal or ZIP code
Country - Country
Phone - Phone
First Date - Date customer was entered into the system.
Last Edit Date - Last date a customer record was edited. Includes last date a customer was included on a sale.
Last Edit Time - Last time a customer record was edited. Includes last time a customer was included on a sale.
Email Tab
Multiple E-Mail Addresses. Send button will launch your system's start an e-mail for this customer.
Misc Tab
Fax - Fax number
Birthday - Customer's birthday month and day. Used for birthday reports and mailings.
Store Credit - Customer's store credit balance. Can be edited directly here.
Loyalty Dollars - Customer's loyalty dollar balance. Can be edited directly here.
Generic/Walk-In Customer - Checking this box will turn off the ability to reuse a customer's previously used credit card (token) when using integrated processing. This can be useful if you are creating generic customers for sales tracking (i.e., zip codes, walk-ins, local, etc.).
Tax ID - Tax Exempt ID. If this field has any value customer will not be charged tax on the Sales Screen.
Sales Tax Jurisdictions - Allows you to select a sales tax jurisdiction for the customer. If a sales tax is set and you select Ship This Sale on the Sales Screen, the selected Customer Sales Tax Jurisdiction will be used on the sale.
VAT Registrant (only visible when in VAT Mode) - In VAT Sales Tax Mode you can setup different customer options that affect whether sales tax is collected and how the receipt is printed (VAT inclusive or exclusive).
a.When VAT Registrant is checked, and optionally there is a value in the Customer VAT/Tax ID field, the customer is not tax exempt. The Sale will be taxed and the values on the receipt will be TAX EXCLUSIVE.
b.When there is a value in the Customer’s VAT/Tax ID field and VAT Registrant is un-checked, the customer is tax exempt. The Sale will not have any sales tax added to the sale and values on the receipt will show without tax.
c.When there is not a value in a Customer’s VAT/Tax ID field and VAT Registrant is un-checked, the customer is not tax exempt. The Sale will be taxed and the values on the receipt will be TAX INCLUSIVE.
Allow House Charges Checkbox - Allows customer charge items to a house account. When checked a Account payment method will be available for this customer on the Sales Screen Payment tab.
Terms - Terms. Will affect statement dating.
Credit Limit - Will limit the house charge balance to this limit. Can be set to $0.00 if you want to stop a customer from charging.
Notes Tab
Notify at Sales Screen Checkbox - Check this box if you want the contents of the customer notes field to be displayed when the customer is entered on the Sales Screen (e.g., don't accept checks, kids names, etc.).
Notes - Customer specific notes.
Interests Checkboxes - Customer Interests assigned to the customer. Can be used to track any information about customer that is not sales related (memberships, loyalty programs, etc.)
Discount (Customer) Tab
Customer Discounts - Select either No Standard Discount, Standard Discount Based on Fixed Percentage, or Standard Discount Based on Price Level. Price Level Discounts are based on Inventory Price Levels. Price Level 1 is standard pricing (no discount).
Discount (Rules) Tab
Discount Rules - List of Discount Rules applied to this customer. Discount Rules can be edited from the Inventory Discount Rules menu item.
Card On File Tab
Card Number - Credit Card Number
Expiration Date - Card Expiration Date.
Card Holder Name - Name as it appears on the credit card.
Street - Street on file with credit card company.
Postal Code - Postal code on file with credit card company.
Custom Tab
User Fields 1-5 - Extra fields for other customer information. These fields are filterable for customer based reports.
Image Tab
Customer Image. Can be useful for clubs or memberships.
Note: Customer Fields with descriptions in red above and on the inventory editor are required fields and must be filled in to create a new customer. In addition at least one of the fields indicated with an asterisk is required to create a new customer.
