Dashboard

The RetailEdge Dashboard Utility lets you to quickly check your RetailEdge sales when you are away from your store. With the Dashboard you can view summary sales information for today's sales from anywhere. The Dashboard Utility is free for Windows, Apple Macs, iPhone and Android, however, the ability for RetailEdge to transmit the information to the Dashboard Clients is available only for RetailEdge users on a Silver (Updates Only) or Gold (Enhanced Service) Plan.

Setting up the Dashboard in RetailEdge and RECAP

1.To setup the Dashboard in RetailEdge:

2.Open the RECAP Control Center in RetailEdge by pressing the RECAP button on the bottom of the main RetailEdge screen.

3.Press the Dashboard Tile and select the Settings menu item from the top of the RECAP Control Center Screen.

4.Select Turn On the Dashboard Utility by selecting the appropriate Checkbox.

5.Set your Password and Timer settings. RetailEdge automatically posts data to a secure remote database at the interval specified in the Timer field (in minutes). If you set this value to zero, RetailEdge will post information only when you manually send the data by pressing the Export Data to the Dashboard Server button in the Dashboard Utility. The Dashboard can be setup in RetailEdge on more than one workstation. However you would typically set up your Dashboard to send information only from one workstation.

6.Business ID: This value is read only but you will need to write down or remember this value as it will be required for the Dashboard App on your mobile device (see below).

7.Location Information: Include Sales for ALL Locations or Include Sales for only THIS location. In a multi-location environment this will allow you to select whether RetailEdge will send sales for this location or all locations as a total.

Setting up the Dashboard App on your Computer or Mobile Device (iOS or Android)

1.Download the Dashboard you want to your computer or mobile device.  MacOS and Windows from our website, iOS from the App Store and Android on Google Play.

2.Launch the Dashboard Application.

3.Choose Settings from lower right hand side of the screen.  This will allow you to set the Auto Timer that determines the time in minutes the App will check the Dashboard server to fetch your RetailEdge sales data and the option to have a chime when the data is fetched.  When you are finished press Done in the bottom right hand corner of the screen.

4.Add your store's location(s) information to the App.  You can do this by pressing the Options (Hamburger) menu icon in the upper right hand corner of the main screen.  Then press the Plus icon in the lower right hand corner of the screen.  You will be asked to enter:

Location Name:  Usually the name of your store but you can name it whatever you want.

Business ID: This is the Business ID that was displayed in the RetailEdge RECAP Settings.

Password: This is the password that the Dashboard Application will need to retrieve data from the web server.  This should match what you used in RetailEdge RECAP Settings above.

5.When you are finished, press Done in the lower right hand corner of the screen.

If you have the Dashboard App set on a timer, it will automatically fetch data at the set interval.  You can also just press the Refresh button in the lower right hand corner of the screen to update manually.

Displaying RECAP Dashboard Status in RetailEdge

The Dashboard Status is displayed on the RetailEdge Dashboard Application Tile within the RECAP Control Center. RetailEdge will display whether the Dashboard is On or Off and the time of the Last Post. If the Dashboard Time value is greater than 0, then when RetailEdge posts to the server database, the Status will display the word Active, letting you know that RetailEdge is trying to contact and post data into the secure remote server.  To manually post data to the remote server, simply press the Export Data to the Dashboard Server button on the main Dashboard Application page.
