Email Receipt Utility

The RetailEdge Email utility allows you to automatically send an e-mail receipt to specified e-mail addresses every time a sale is posted in RetailEdge.   This can help you keep your finger on the pulse of your business even when you are not in the store.

Misc Settings Tab

Turn Receipt Emailer Utility On? Checkbox:  Check this box to turn the integration on.

Timer: This is the value in minutes that RECAP will check with Shopify to see if there are new orders. Before setting up information on the other tabs, you should set this value to 0 (manual mode).

Reset Last Sale Date?  RECAP will push only receipts that have occurred since the last post.   However there can be conditions sales might be skipped (i.e., system clocks not being correct, timers running on workstations that are disconnected from the master database, etc.).  This utility allows you to push back the last synch times to capture these sales.

Email Server Settings Tab

This method does not require you to install an e-mail client on your computer and you can use your web mail services to send e-mails. RetailEdge will need the following information about your Email Server in order to send out e-mails.

SMTP Server: The name of the mail server you are using (e.g., smtp.gmail.com).

SMTP Port:  The port that server uses to communicate. The typical ones are 465, 587 and 25, but your mail server might use something different.

Address From:  The from e-mail address you want the emails to come from.

Username: Typically your email address

Password: Typically your email login password but can be an application password that is generated for some webmail (e.g., Gmail).

Recipient List:  This is the list of people who will receive these e-mails.  One email per line if you are sending the email to multiple people.

Send Test Email button: Once you have filled in all the appropriate information, you should test your settings by pressing the Send Test Email button. If you have all your settings entered correctly you will receive a successful message

If you have trouble with these options, you should contact with your e-mail service provider.  They should be able to give you the information to fill out the information for these fields.
