To prevent user error, the Sales Screen and Scale Input Screen will display an error if any of the following conditions occur. If an error occurs, RetailEdge will not allow the item to be sold and will prevent the item from being added to the Sales Screen.
| 1. | Scale is reading no weight. The Avery scales will display a zero weight and will allow you to enter a zero weight item. |
| 2. | Scale is reading a weight below the scales allowable minimum weight as defined by the Scale Type selected for the Workstation Settings. |
| 3. | Scale units does not match the units defined in the Scale Type selected for the Workstation Settings. |
| 4. | The Tare Weight selected by the item does not match or is below the scale division (e.g, tare weight of 0.01 on a scale with a 0.1 division is not allowed). |
| 5. | Item Weight - Tare Weight results in a negative weight being calculated. Negative weight calculations can’t be entered onto the sales screen from scale input. Negatives can be entered after the item has been weighed and entered onto the sales screen if you want to perform a return (Ctrl-Alt- N or return from the Touch Sales Screen). |
| 6. | Scale is not-settled and non-zero weight. |
| 7. | Scale is in an error condition (overweight, zero weight (OPOS), not- settled). |
| 8. | Scale value is different from the value displayed in the Scale Input Screen. If this occurs, RetailEdge will require you to re-weigh the item by pressing the Read Scale button. |
| 9. | Scale has exceeded its capacity defined in the Scale Type selected for the Workstation Settings. |
| 10. | Once a item that has been weighed by a scale has been added to a sale, the quantity of that item can’t be manually edited. The item must be re-weighed using the scale in order for the item quantity to be changed. |
