In a multi-location business RetailEdge synchronizes data between stores using a program called RECON.  RECON is a centralized program that will sequentially check all locations databases to

 

1.Determine if there is any new or changed data at the remote locations that needs to be brought up to the centralized location for distribution to the other locations.  

2.Send down to the location any new information from other locations.  

 

RECON will cycle through all locations and then will rest for a user definable (usually 5 minutes) before starting the synchronization schedule again.
