| 6. | Reboot your computer when prompted. |
| 7. | Save the downloaded file to a USB drive or other media so that you can install the program on another workstation if you are installing a secondary workstation or your computer needs to be replaced. |
RetailEdge Dataserver Placement
We recommend that the RetailEdge data be located on the computer being used as the main register. This will allow you to keep processing sales if there is a network problem. However, there are cases where it might be better to have the data on a back-office machine. Some factors to consider before placing the data on another network machine are:
| 1. | The speed and stability of your network. |
| 2. | Other applications running on the computers including RECON (RetailEdge's Multi-location synchronization engine) |
| 3. | Your computer's specifications. |
| 4. | Access to a technical person or equipment that can get your network up and running if a problem occurs. |
| 5. | How critical your sales process is. Most businesses can’t afford to have their sales workstations down for a period of time. |
| 6. | Internet connection availability in a multi-location business. |
