Purging inventory quantities will consolidate inventory quantities in the inventory quantity logs. These log files can get large and purging the logs will reduce the size of the logs and can also speed up the time it takes to run many different inventory reports.
To do this:
| 1. | Choose Purge | Inventory - Quantity Log from the Tools menu item. |
| 2. | Press the Next button to display the Purge Criteria page. |
| 3. | Press the Set Purge Filter Criteria button to display the Filter Screen. |
| 4. | Choose Last Action Date and then choose the date through which you want to consolidate the log file. |
| 5. | Press the Ok button to set the filter criteria and then the Next button to display the Run Purge page. |
| 6. | Press the Run Quantity Log Purge button to run the purge. |
All item quantities through the last action date chosen will be consolidated.
This purge utility can affect reports that use the As Of Date filter. You will not be able to use the As Of Date filter on dates older than the purge date. If you are in a multi-location environment you will want to run this utility at each location (and/or database). The consolidation of the Quantity Log will occur only at the location where the purge is run and will not be synchronized using RECON.
Also, if you use RECON to synchronize your locations, please be sure that RECON has recently completed a synchronization cycle for all locations. The date of last RECON synchronization cycle must be more recent than the Last Action Date.
You can't purge (consolidate) quantities for dates within 180 days.
Note: Before purging you should do the following:
| 1. | Backup your data |
| 2. | Print all appropriate reports for the period that you are purging. |
