Saving Credit Card Information

RetailEdge can also keep credit card information on file for a customer. Due to processor contractual issues, RetailEdge will not store credit card swipe information. To save credit card information for a customer:
1. | Edit the customer, |
2. | Select the Card On File tab, |
3. | Fill in the appropriate information and press the Save button. |
You will then be able to use this information during a sale, by pushing the Card on File button, when RetailEdge asks you for the credit card information.
Note: As of Version 8.2.28 this feature is being phased out. Although we still allow the secure storing of credit card data for legacy customers, we strongly recommend that you no longer use this feature. The new out-of-scope credit card integrations support reusing customer credit card data through tokenization. This removes the need to store credit card information but allows you to view credit card information (masked showing only last 4 digits) and reuse multiple previously processed cards.
You should also purge the credit card information from your system to further increase security if you have not further use of this information.
