RetailEdge can use an attached scale to allow you to weigh items at the point-of-sale. To set up a scale:
| 1. | Choose Workstations from the Tools|Settings menu item. |
| 2. | Press the Scale tab. |
| 3. | Choose the type of scale interface you are using (serial, parallel, OPOS). |
| 4. | If using a serial display, choose the serial port you are using (COM1, COM2, etc.) |
| 5. | Choose the type of scale type you are using. |
You will need to restart RetailEdge after making these changes.
Once you have set up your scale, RetailEdge's will retrieve item weight information from the scale when you press the F12 function key on the Sales Screen. Or if you have selected the Sales Screen: Automatically Use Scale option for the inventory item being sold (Weight, Age, EBT sidebar option on the Inventory Item Editor), RetailEdge will automatically try to calculate the weight of the item from the scale without using the F12 function key.
