Dynamic Cost (Use Dept. Margin if Avg Cost = $0.00) - Checking this box will allow you to sell an item and RetailEdge will calculate a cost based on the margin of the department it is associated with. This can be useful when you want to discount a consignment item and the consignor gets a fixed percentage of the selling price. Dynamic Cost is calculated when the sale is posted, so changing pricing after the item is entered onto the sales screen will affect the calculated cost of the item. This is different from Department SKUs and Non-Entered items, that determine a cost when the item is initially entered onto the sales screen and subsequent changes to the price do not affect the initial cost.
Min Sales Price - This will prevent clerks from over discounting an item. This also can be useful for consignment items when a consignor has a minimum price they want to receive for an item.
Split pricing - Normally 1, but can be set to a value that will allow you to sell an item at totals that can't normally be sold at based on the unit cost (e.g., 3 for $1.00). This can also be accomplished with discount rules.
Bin/Shelf - The physical location of the item within the business.
Min/Max Fields - Fields used for item reordering quantities and can be used for auto-generating purchase orders. There are four different minimums and maximums to allow for quarterly seasonality ordering differences.
UPC 1 Code - Item UPC (Universal Product Code). Usually the barcode that comes on pre-barcoded items.
UPC 2 Code - Alternate UPC item lookup code. Can be used for any other barcode that comes with the item (e.g., European Article Number EAN)
Export/Report Code - User defined code. Is used for many different report filters.
Sales Screen: Ask For Quantity - Check this box for items you want to have automatically prompt for a quantity other than one. This can be useful for businesses that have items always sold multiple quantities.
User Fields 1-5 - Additional fields used for filtering inventory and reports (i.e., Author, Publisher, etc.).
Tare Weight - Weight of item that will be automatically removed from the quantity when being sold.
Manually Weighed Item Checkbox - Check this box if you want to have the item automatically prompt for a quantity when sold and append the weight units to the description of the item.
Manual Weight Unit - Units for manually weighed items. This will automatically append this value along with the unit price (e.g., @$100.00/lbs MAN WT) to the item's description when selling a manually weighed item.
Export Weight Value - Weight of the item. The values can be exported in an inventory export or imported in a REDI import file format and can be exported in a customer shipping export for use in an external shipping program.
