RetailEdge can also be used with a touchscreen. To use RetailEdge on a touchscreen:
1.Set up your system to run the Sales Touch Screen. You can find more about this in the Sales section on Setting up the Sales Touch Screen.
2.Display the Virtual Keyboard by Ctrl-Alt-K or by pressing the Keyboard Icon Button located on the bottom left hand corner of the main screen.
3.Depending on the functionality you need, you can press the Num Pad button to display a Numeric Keyboard or the Keyboard button to display the QWERTY keyboard. Displaying the QWERTY keyboard is useful when entering customer or inventory information. Displaying the numeric keyboard is useful when manually entering item numbers, entering quantity information, entering payment, or credit card information.
Displaying the QuickList by pressing F5 when on the Sales Screen Items tab can be helpful when using a touchscreen. The QuickList will remain open while the Sales Screen is displayed. The QuickList can display a list of items that need to be quickly entered on the Sales Screen. RetailEdge will allow you to alternatively scan items, select items from the QuickList, or manually enter items using the Virtual Keyboard.
Displaying the RetailEdge Welcome Center by choosing Welcome Center from the Help menu can help touchscreen users navigate through RetailEdge main functions.
Although a touchscreen's benefits are mostly for the Sales Screen, a touchscreen can be used for all RetailEdge screens and functions.
Hint: Maximizing the Sales Screen and main screen when the Virtual Keyboard is open and Auto Hiding the Windows taskbar can provide more screen space.
Note: Touchscreen monitor resolution must be 1024 x 768 or greater.
