Accessible and Secure
We have designed RetailEdge to be a secure point of sale system so that your business information and your customer’s information is always secure. We continue to make sure that our system has the highest level of security. We also work with our processing partners to provide integrated solutions for retailers.
Local data storage
Accessible Data is Stored on Your Device
There is a lot of talk about cloud computing these days, but where is your information really going, and what happens if the cloud goes down?
Cloud convenience comes with the threat of third parties gaining access to your data without your knowledge, as well as requiring a reliable internet connection. So, we store your data locally on your device. With data storage directly on the device, the data truly belongs to you instead of everyone else who has access to cloud information. No one else can have that data but you because it is on your computer.
Secure credit card processing
Out of scope data transfer
RetailEdge is no longer a Payment Application, we removed RetailEdge from the scope of PA-DSS. Instead, we give you a choice of credit card processor from one of our partners to provide you with an integrated solution.
What does out of scope mean?
The processing is integrated with the program; however, RetailEdge is no longer handling any credit card data. The transmission and storage of the credit card data is handled by the credit card processor’s application or device. RetailEdge only passes the transaction amount to the processor’s application/device and receives approval back from the processors device. Removing RetailEdge from the scope of PA-DSS eliminates the the chance of sensitive credit card data being intercepted.
PCI Security Standards
Protect customer account data
The credit card processing industry and the PCI Security Standards Council (SSC) requires that retailers process credit cards securely and comply with security standards (PCI Compliance). At RetailEdge we take credit card security seriously and we want to help our customers manage their compliance and security responsibilities.
As the council’s website states, “the PCI DSS is a multifaceted security standard that includes requirements for security management, policies, procedures, network architecture, software design and other critical protective measures. This comprehensive standard is intended to help organizations proactively protect customer account data.”
