RetailEdge 2025.04.0 Release Notes #

This is a major release that adds many new features, including new discount rules and reports, and a number of performance and stability improvements. It also fixes and makes improvements to existing features.

New Features #

1.  Added a Pre-Buy discount rule – Buy Today, Use in the Future (e.g., Coffee or Pet Washes).
2.  Added a Discount Triggered by Quantity Total, Amount Off discount rule (e.g., Buy $10 – $19.99, Get $1.00 off).
3.  Added fractional percent support for Discount Triggered by Quantity Total discount rule.
4.  Added Drag and Drop Reordering of Touch Buttons on the Quicklist.
5.  Added an Available Daily Supply report that shows how many days supply available for an item. (Qty_OnHand/(Qty_Sold/Number of Days)).
6.  Added a Compound Sold by Item Report. Report displays Sold by Month with On-Hand, Vendor Part Number and Item ID without Department, Class, Vendor grouping.
7.  Added a Reorder – Sales – Grouped by Stock Number Report.
8.  Added event driven synch cycles to RECON Cloud. RECON Cloud will now check local and cloud data chances and begin cycles when activity/data changes are detected. This will significantly speed up synchronization for Cloud users.
9.  Added a Discount Rule Name Filter to the Sales with Coupons Report.
10.  RetailEdge now remembers maximized state of all forms and screens.
11.  Added Datalogic Magellan 9550i with single cable scanner/scale certification.
12.  Added OPOS support for scanners.
13.  RetailEdge now requires typed confirmation response when changing the Shopify Key Field.
14.  Changed the default key mapping field to ItemID in Shopify and Octopus Bridge.
15.  Added better trapping for CR, LF, CRLF on Description field imports.
16.  RetailEdge now hides Serial/Activity tabs on Saved Sale Manager.
17.  Added a “None” option for labels in Workstation Settings.
18.  Added features when saving items that help multi-location businesses and Island workstation users prevent cross-editing.
19.  Added a warning about Windows 10 – End of Life (EOL) on October 14,2025. It will be here before you know it.
20.  Added a new option to update inventory prices on PO REDI imports.
21.  Added better error messaging for relay timeouts on Cloud Load Balancing Server
22.  Added an Email Filter to Customer Sales Summary Export.
23.  The Closing Summary Report now prints a closing when the sales session has NO sales.
24.  Added a button to fetch Octopus Bridge locations needed for new installs.
25.  PICS Grid now refreshes to allow users to instantly see when a scanned item is not found or has errors.
26.  RetailEdge will no longer allow payments higher than $99,999,999.00.,
27.  Server Connection Settings Refresh Rate no longer hides columns in Managers and Lists.
28.  RetailEdge now displays a message when Receipt Printer 1 and the Reprint Printer do not match.
29.  Added fixes to help prevent Transfer Order cross edits.
30.  Renamed the report section Include/Sort Order to Include/Grouping to make it clearer what these selections do in the reports.
31.  RetailEdge now allows you to manually issue negative amounts to a gift card.
32.  Added description of how the Combo Search works in the Help File.
33.  Improved the Startup Error Message if the Ret_Users table is damaged.
34.  Updated references to Global Payments in Workstation Settings.
35.  Updated Copyright references.
36.  Added Logging to API Server to better track API client activity.
37.  Improved the Table Resync Utility with a new phase two synch check.
38.  Improved reports to make the grouping, sorting and filters available with each report clearer.
39.  Refreshed RECAP Interface to match latest RetailEdge look.
40.  Added Total Weight text to receipt language files.

Fixes and Improvements #

1.  Fixed the Traditional sales screen minimum sale price warning displayed when selling $0 items.
2.  Added timer validation to RECAP Applications (0-999 Minutes).
3.  Corrected Customer Rewards Program status calculations for different purchase starting dates and exclusions.
4.  Added validation extremely large numbers in Workstation Settings label printer slip.
5.  RECON Client/Island new installations now properly create a log viewer file.
6.  A prompt for price item with all price levels set to zero no longer ignores the entered price.
7.  Sales Screen lookup with Alias will no longer find deleted Stock Number first.
8.  Prompt for price item with zero cost now properly displays the discount in the Sales Manager and closing report.
9.  Selected payments in the Payment Filter are now displayed properly when selecting the available or current filter.
10.  The label designer now properly refreshes the label design if it is out of date when posting the label changes.
11.  Adding an Addon Item to an inventory item and then canceling no longer displays an error.
12.  The Edit Organization form is now properly storing its location and size.
13.  Switching serial numbers on an Open Order now works properly.
14.  Canceling an open order with a gift card payment now works correctly.
15.  Discounted dynamic cost items now properly show the discount in the Sales Manager.
16.  The Activity Tab in Sales Manager now works properly for Open Orders/Layaways Managers.
17.  RetailEdge now allows voiding of Loyalty Dollar redemption transactions.
18.  Fixed truncation of Sales Screen – Status Bar – Item Count.
19.  Automatic addons now work on Touch Sales Screen.
20.  Fixed Label Designer font issues.
21.  Fixed text when manually voiding gift card to say, ‘Void Gift Card’.
22.  Database Restore no longer fails when the Customer Display is open.
23.  Fixed some RECON Client error messages to better handle carriage returns.
24.  Fixed issue that caused the More Actions option on Customer Manager to become disabled.
25.  Deleted Items Report now properly shows local time instead of UTC.
26.  Searching the Todo List by Description no longer displays an error.
27.  Added an error message when there is a blank clerk in Octopus Bridge settings.
28.  On the Traditional Sales Screen, Price Level Discount no longer overrides Prompt for Price.
29.  Increased performance when changing customers on the Sale Screen and the Discount Rule – Rewards – Punch Card – Amount Off discount rule is being applied.
30.  Sales tax is now properly calculated and applied to the items if tax exempt customer is removed from sale.
31.  A Check Reference Number can now be removed after sale.
32.  Sped up the program updates process.
33.  Sales Screen – +/- Spinner no longer allows overriding discount rule quantity editing exceptions.
34.  Loyalty Dollars Used/Redeemed exported to QuickBooks Desktop now properly adds a credit line to the journal entry.
35.  QuickBooks Online export now logs (request/response) for each active payment type.
36.  It is no longer possible to load and undelete ~~unassigned~~ items on the sales screen.
37.  Printing to Receipt Printer 2 no longer fails when you have the Ask for Receipt Option selected.
38.  Saving the Location Settings no longer resets custom user labels.
39.  Location Merge utility now properly only creates Register IDs from the “From” location.
40.  Complete Sale Coupon Amount Off no longer generates negative tax when net sale approaches $0.
41.  Fixed Manager Splitter to prevent screens from being cut off when moving from full screen to windowed screen.
42.  Improved how Shopify integration updates customer records in RetailEdge.
43.  Fixed false positive Audit Log Purge Warnings.
44.  The Complete Amount Off Coupon no longer triggers negative loyalty.
45.  Fixed the PICS Exception Type Filter.
